How I Cleared My Daughter’s Baby Acne Fast!

These two products worked like magic to clear up my daughter's baby acne.

My daughter, Addie, was born with the most beautiful skin.  So soft and smooth and perfect.  It was just like I imagined it would be.  Just like you see in the baby commercials.

Fast forward a few weeks later and she was breaking out horribly with baby acne.  Her face was so irritated and red, it made me sad to see.  Now, I know everyone says it’ll clear up on its own, and it’s only a cosmetic issue.  It’s not like she was any less beautiful or perfect.  But it looked painful.  And her skin was so dry from the breakouts that it was peeling.

I started searching for a solution to help clear up her skin.  The most recommended solution that I found was to put breast milk on the acne.  So many people had success with this remedy and I know a lot of moms who use their breast milk for virtually everything.  I’m all about an all-natural fix, so I started putting breast milk on her skin several times a day.  But there was no change.  And now she smelled like sour milk all the time.

I tried several other remedies as well, but nothing made a real difference for us.  Coconut oil, aquaphor, washing gently with warm water.  The skin on her face was still covered with red spots and dry patches.  Nothing seemed to do much to help her skin.  I felt like we would never find a solution to the baby acne, except to just wait it out.

Until I stumbled upon two products that worked like magic!

The first step to clearing up the spots

The first product is Mustela PhysiObebe No-Rinse Cleansing Fluid.  This stuff is amazing!  I would just put some on a cotton ball and apply it all over the affected areas 2-3 times a day.  Super easy!  Plus, the smell isn’t bad and it is very gentle on her delicate skin.  I would also use this to clean her up if she got messy and I wasn’t able to bathe her right away – aka, she spit up all over herself right as we’re walking out the door.  This product is hypoallergenic and affordable.  And you don’t have to use much of this at all.  In fact, I still have the same bottle I purchased when we first tried this!

And step number two

After I applied the Mustela Cleansing Fluid and gave it a minute to dry, I would put Aveeno Baby Daily Moisture Lotion on her skin.  This helped so much with the dryness.  It absorbed instantly and left her skin so incredibly soft.  This lotion is also one of my favorites for my skin as well!  I love that it doesn’t have that horrible greasy feel that some other lotions have.

The results

Literally within just 2 days of using these two products Addie’s skin was almost completely clear.  And within a week her skin was flawless again!  No spots or dry patches!  Addie had some pretty awful cradle cap too, so I tried putting some of the cleansing fluid on it and then rubbing a little of the lotion on her scalp.  The cradle cap cleared right up!  Double win!

So if you’ve tried to get rid of your baby’s acne and haven’t had any luck, I would definitely give these products a try.  And check out these other great products that were absolute lifesavers when my daughter was an infant!

Will be trying this today. My poor little one is sounding exactly like your experience. It’s red and dry and I feel so bad for her.

I hope it worked for you, Jasmin! 🙂

This is great! I’ve definitely heard to use the first product but I was wondering if it dried out your babies skin? My babies acne is just on her face and I’m really nervous about using any product besides sensitive skin wipes. Also, is the Aveeno lotion recommended for their faces?

Thank you so much for reading, Whittney! No, the Mustela didn’t dry out my baby’s skin at all. I haven’t seen anywhere that says the lotion can’t be used on their face, so it would really be up to you whether you feel comfortable using it or not. It is very gentle, but I’m sure the Mustela would help even on its own. 🙂
